Coronavirus (COVID-19) Rev 2

Dear customers

We are very sorry to announce in the light of the UK Government’s advice on the 23rd March 2020 to complete essential travel only and to remain in your primary residence, that we have taken the decision to close Cox’s Boatyard Ltd until further notice with immediate effect.

The latest government advice is as follows as we understand:

“Essential travel does not include visits to second homes, camp sites, caravan parks, boats or similar, whether for isolation purposes or holidays. People should remain in their primary residence. Not taking these steps puts additional pressure on the NHS, communities and other services that are already at risk”

It is important that you do not travel to us. As always, the safety and health of our team and customers is one of our top priorities and we have taken this difficult decision in support of the UK Government and NHS recommendations.

This also mean that unfortunately we will not be able to work on any boats during this shut down period.

We will be continuing to monitor the government guidelines and will update you if necessary.

We know this will be very disappointing for lots of our customers, and we assure you that this decision has not been taken lightly. The safety and well-being of both our customers and our team remain an important priority for us.

Again, please accept our sincerest apologies that we have needed to take this decision.

If you want to know the statues on your boats, please e-mail us.

For information:

  • The marina will be checked three-times each week.
  • The craft with hook up electric will still be left on but checked.
  • The toilet block will be locked, and code changed.
  • The carparks will be roped off.
  • The security will still be in place and working 24hr a day.
  • Communication with the yard will be through e-mail.

Kind regards, keep safe & well
Eric Bishop & the team at Cox’s Boatyard Ltd
