A unique opportunity to acquire a traditional timber built, unmodified, classic Broads yacht. She is one of a pair built in 1935 and still in good original condition. She has a gaff rig, fin keel and well proportioned sails giving a pleasing, balanced appearance, complete with brass name plate and port holes.
She has a varnished cock pit with cushions and seats 4 comfortably. There are 2 single berths in the cabin plus one on a stretcher bed in the fore peak. The covers, ropes, sails and rigging are in good condition. The toilet has been updated to a new, easy to use sea toilet. On the side deck is a brass attachment point for a removable outboard motor bracket.

Will o’ the Wisp has been well cared for and regularly sailed by her present owner since 2001. In 2016 the hull was stripped and carefully inspected and refurbished with new planks and re-corked, as required and remains in her original specification.

This is a beautiful boat that turns heads and is often photographed by passers-by. She has a fitted varnished interior with cupboards and drawers, complete with paraffin lamp with glass shade, clock and barometer.

Will o’ the Wisp offers traditional touring and overnight accommodation on the water, as well as the opportunity to immerse the owner in the sailing scene. She is both fast, responsive and a joy to sail. She has a race handicap of -15p. Due to few changes to the original design, with no water tank or inboard engine, she is lighter and faster and more balanced than many similar yachts.

Sailing a wooden boat is a completely sustainable and carbon neutral past time, the ultimate green hobby. Sleeping over night on the water or swinging on a mud weight anchor and watching the wildlife is a very special, immersive experience.

This is a rare opportunity to acquire a piece of Norfolk sailing history. We are looking for a new owner to fully enjoy this special yacht.
